Adult Workshops (ages 16 and older) These workshops accommodate up to 4adults and are 2 to 5 hours of intensive instruction.
♦ Hearth Cooking – Learn the ins and outs of cooking over a fire in this approximately 5-hour class. We will make a complete meal. Participants may each invite one guest to come dine (up to 8 total meals). $250 for a 5-hour class for up to 4 people, and a meal for up to 8 people. (approx. $63/person includes a meal for 8)
♦ Beginning Quilting – Master basic quilting techniques. Cost includes all materials, though students will need to bring some standard supplies. Jo Garvin instructor. $120 per 2-hour class. (approx. $30/person)
♦ Genealogy Research — Spend time with our research staff learning how to best uncover family genealogies using the Seibert Library’s unique resources as well as internet services. $60 for a 2-hourclass. (approx. $15/person)
♦ Hand-Spinning Wool – Learn the steps to processing fiber, from cleaning a raw fleece to hand spinning yarn. (Beginners should expect to need multiple sessions.) $160 *for a 2-hour session. *Materials fee may be an additional cost. (Approx. $40/person)
♦ Scherenschnitte — This class can accommodate up to 6 adults. Work with local scherenschnitte artist, Joli Miller, to master the skills needed to cut incredible, beautiful designs from paper. $150 for a3-hour session. (approx. $25/person)
♦ Braided Rugs — Learn the skills for braiding beautiful rugs and mats. 4 adults max/$150. 2-hour class includes materials. Carolyn Newcomer, instructor. (approx. $38/person)
